We loved the video for Lady Gaga's Edge Of glory. It was simple, understated and proved that Lady Gaga doesnt need to put on a huge show in order to catch our attention. Of course, that doesnt mean that Lady Gagas going to stop putting on a show. As shes proved with the video for her latest single You And I.
Mama Monster (the name Lady Gagas fans call her) pulls out all the stops in this video, which would need a whole book, rather than a webpage, to deconstruct.
As far as we can tell, the video is about the way that we try to change one another when were in love, and that the only way we can possibly understand true love is to love ourselves for who we are, hence Lady Gaga making out with a male version of herself in stripped down make-up. But, of course, thats only our interpretation.
We also think theres a lot of film references here Frankenstein, Splash, and even Bonnie and Clyde perhaps referring to these famous couples who seemed to love one another regardless of their faults.
Who knows though? What do you think its about? Let us know!
