Kylie in Neighbours
Kylie Minogue was born on 26 May 1968 in Melbourne, Australia. It was always Kylie\'s younger sister Dannii Minogue (now a judge on Britain\'s The X Factor) who everybody expected to be the biggest star. Dannii was an Australian TV regular, and Kylie\'s first singing performance came when she backed up her little sis on Young Talent Time. Things changed when Kylie joined the cast of Neighbours way back in 1986. Playing plucky mechanic Charlene Mitchell, Kylie was an instant success and won stacks of Logies - Aussie TV awards. Her popularity on the show peaked when her character married Scott Robinson played by Jason Donovan, who she was in a relationship with off-screen too.

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan Especially For You
In 1987, Kylie Minogue was signed to Stock Aitken & Waterman, aka The Hit Factory, and her first hit with the boys was the annoyingly catchy I Should Be So Lucky which went to No 1 in the UK. In 1989 Kylie and Jason Donovan, now both successful pop singers teamed up to record Especially For You. It went number straight to No 1 and became Kylie\'s first million selling single (her second was Can\'t Get You Out Of My Head in 2001). The record still gets airplay today - it\'s one of those songs you either love or hate!

Kylie and Michael Hutchence
By 1990 Kylie was doing all she could to move away from her squeaky-clean image. Gone was the cute girl seen in the I Should Be So Lucky video, and in her place was a sexy woman. In keeping with this overhaul, Jason Donovan was history and she started stepping out with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, who cited his favourite hobby as "corrupting Kylie". In 1997, after he had split with Kylie and was in a relationship with Paula Yates, Michael was found dead in a Sydney hotel room having hung himself with a belt.

Kylie Minogue hot pants Spinning Around
In the \'90s, Kylie\'s pop career went into a downturn when she tried to re-invent herself as a more serious artist. She made albums with Manic Street Preachers (1998\'s Impossible Princess), films with Jean-Claude Van Damme (the awful Street Fighter) and obscure dance tunes (is this odd enough for you?) but she struggled to win over a doubting public. Things changed in 1999 when she returned to pure pop and topped the charts with Spinning Around - if only she\'d known all it would take was a pair of gold hot pants!

Kylie Minogue and James Gooding
Wedding bells appeared to be on the cards for Kylie in 2000 when she hooked up with model James Gooding. The pair were regulars on the red carpet and Kylie even went public with her nickname for him - "my delightful scruff". But things ended badly three years later when he admitted cheating on pint-sized Kylie with a (then) plus-sized Sophie Dahl.

Kylie and Robbie Williams
By 2000 Kylie was back on top of the world and wowed crowds at the MTV Europe Awards when she performed the duet Kids with Robbie Williams (he\'s busy looking for UFOs these days!)

Kylie
In 2001, Kylie released the infectiously catchy single Can\'t Get You Out Of My Head, written by \'80s star Cathy Dennis, and the awards soon came rolling in - MTV awards, Ivor Novellos, Brits and Arias. Accompanied by a cutting-edge video, the perfectly-crafted pop tune topped the charts in 40 countries, sold over four million copies, and had people \'la la-ing\' along in clubs everywhere!

Justin Timberlake and Kylie
On stage Justin Timberlake copped a feel but the real story of the 2003 Brit Awards happened afterwards, when Justin partied with Kylie and Dannii in her hotel room. He was spotted slipping out the back way in the early hours...

Kylie and Olivier Martinez
In 2003 Kylie Minogue got together with French model and actor Olivier Martinez. Though no stranger to a celebrity relationship (he\'d also been out Juliette Binoche and Mira Sorvino) nothing could have prepared him for the paparazzi frenzy that being Kylie\'s boyfriend brought. The pair split after four years together, and while they both insisted it was amicable the papers insisted he\'d been playing away from home.

Kylie Minogue battles breast cancer
In 2005, midway through her sold-out Show Girl tour, the world was shocked to hear that Kylie Minogue had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The concerts were immediately postponed as she underwent surgery and chemotherapy. After 18 months spent getting treatment and convalescing, she resumed her tour in Sydney in November 2006, apologising to the crowd for being late!

Cue the Can\'t Get You Out Of My Bed jokes. The project is a joint effort with stylist William Baker and is available from Debenhams and House of Fraser.
