Whos in it?
Manufactured pop monster of pin-up-tastic proportions and everyones favourite guilty pleasure Girls Aloud are back. Following last Christmas Greatest Hits, Tangled Up is their fifth studio album, a collection of brash, experimental, toe-tapping, booty-shaking pop numbers that are steadily become Girls Alouds signature sound.
Whats the story?
The album opens well with the irresistibly catchy 80s homage Call The Shots undoubtedly the best song on the album then things speed up to an unrelenting pace with the thrashing electro first single Sexy No No No. Early songs Close To Love and Girl Overboard have single written all over them, whereas tracks Cant Speak French and the punky squelching souls of Im Falling show a more experimental side to the girls sound. The album does lose its way a little in the middle, when youre reminded you are in fact listening to a pop album, littered with fillers as youd expect, but its a fun ride getting there!
The verdict
Get the girls over, get the wine flowing and enjoy a good shameful dance and sing-a-long while youre getting ready for a night out. It might not be groundbreaking and it might not be thought-provoking, but hey, its fun, flirty and further proves why Girls Aloud are at the top of their pop game.
