What's the story?
I (Natasha Aitken, Editor) am a die-hard. I have loved the Foos since 1995 and their incredible debut album. Every time they release a new one I am scared it will be shite and I won't love them any more. But it's OK - they haven't failed me yet (although ‘The Colour and the Shape' wasn't my favourite). After their last releases, ‘In Your Honor' and ‘Skin and Bones', I was truly terrified. Nothing can beat this, I declared! Once again my fears were uncalled for. ‘ESP&G' completely and utterly rocks. What's more, it rocks and also it strokes the soul, beats upon my sentiment and makes me want to weep because Dave Grohl is so talented, damn cool and has the best hair in the world.
But enough about Dave's hair. What's the album like?
Current release ‘The Pretender' is classic Foos and a great way to kick off the new album. There's a real mix of acoustic, hard rock, powerful ballads and original grunge that proves Grohl's songwriting continues to grow and grow.
Favourite tracks?
The powerful 'Come Alive' and gorgeous 'Home'.
Perfect for?
Making the transition from summer into autumn all the more bearable. Stick it on your MP3 and see how hard it is not to start dancing on the subway.
