Who is she?
Her 2001 debut album Songs In A Minor won her a record five Grammys and contained her breakthrough R&B hit Falling. It's been a three-year wait for As I Am, this her third album, and a lot has changed in the R&B world.
What's the story?
In her absence from the scene Alicia has been plagued with more speculation over her social life then her performances as a credible artist. This album blows all of that speculation out of the water and reminds her fans just what she is all about, melodic piano, deep, meaningful lyrics and some killer guest spots from the likes of Floetry, Timbaland and American guitar hero John Mayer.
The verdict
If you have liked anything Alicia in the past then you will love this album. We challenge anyone to pick up this album and not get lost in it. Invite your friends round for a girlie night in, a bottle of wine and a good old bitch about the men that are messing up your lives.
