It’s not surprising that the Hot Chip boys have been asked to write a song for Kylie – they utterly rock. Perhaps if they hadn’t been so busy making their follow-up to 2006’s The Warning, we might have had that pleasure already. With a mix of rock, full-on dance tracks and a couple of ballads, Made In The Dark certainly looks set to catapult the band to mainstream domination.

Gnarls Barkley

Not much is known about the second album from Gnarls Barkley because the boys are keeping very tight lipped about the whole thing. In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the only thing that singer Cee-Lo would say about the up and coming release was that it would be “bigger, badder, bolder and more arena friendly”.

The Verve

Since reforming for the second time partway through last year, The Verve have been plugging away in the studio, recording new material – the first fruits of which were called The Thaw Session and were made available to download from NME.com for one week. Expect a new album towards the end of the year, providing their record label EMI manages to avert their current crisis.

Despite recent reports that Madonna’s 11^th studio album will be called Liquorice and be released in April, her publicist has lately denied all of this. Hayden Panettiere

Looks like 2008 is going to be a good year for Heroes star Hayden Panettiere. Not only will she be starring in her first major film this year alongside Julia Roberts, but she\'s also about to release her first album. Hayden has been signed to Hollywood Records, home to another actress-come-singer, Hilary Duff. We\'ll be looking forward to this release with interest.
