This time last year, Drake, Ellie Goulding, Tinie Tempah and Ke$ha were the music names to drop. And for the most part, all the predictions came true.

But, which names should you start working into conversations for 2011? Here’s our list of the names tipped to make it big next year.

The Vaccines

They’ve been compared to the Libertines, and MTV and the NME have included them in their hot lists, but can the Vaccines live up to the hype? Right now, the London four-piece are keeping us all guessing as to what makes them tick, but we expect to find out much, much more next year. Their as yet unnamed album is out in March 2011.

Jessie J

If you took Cher Lloyd, gave her 10 times more attitude and a busload of talent, you’d be halfway to having a good idea what Jessie J is all about. Her self-written debut single, Do It Like A Dude, was reportedly offered to Rihanna before Jessie decided to release it herself. Her angst-y debut is a serious statement of intent but doesn’t showcase half the talent this girl has, check out some of her videos on Youtube if you want a better idea.

Clare Maguire

Two years ago, Clare Maguire was a girl from Birmingham with a big voice and a MySpace page, who, before she knew it, and at the tender age of nineteen, found herself downing shots with Jay Z and in the middle of a label scrum. Two years on, and having signed to Universal, she’s about to commence the biggest year of her life and one that’s almost certain to end with her being a huge star. She’s got a soulful country vibe about her, think Shirley Bassey mixed with Adele.

Far East Movement

Far East Movement are an electro/rap group from Los Angeles, who have already toured with Lady Gaga and had a number one hit in America. The lads claim to have “bridged the gap between underground party records and mainstream hip-hop and pop” so they should have some interesting stuff coming our way in the next twelve months. The call their style Free Wired (we call it Black Eyed Peas rip off).

Willow Smith

If you don’t know who Willow Smith is, you could try asking her Dad to find out. He’s only Hollywood actor Will Smith. Yep, that’s right, Will Smith’s sprog, who, by the way, is just 10 years old (makes you wonder what you’ve been doing with your life doesn’t it?). Willow has already released a No 1 single Whip My Hair, which has got everyone at handbag towers doing the dance.

Yuck

Yuck (catchy name right?) formed when school friends Max Bloom and Danny Blumberg started experimenting with indie sounds after wrapping things up with their previous group, Cajun Dance Party. And thank goodness because, having gained three more members, they’ve already released some singles, most recently Rubber, which have gained the attention of music experts, like Zane Lowe, Huw Stevens, and Lauren Laverne, and of course, catapulted them into the public consciousness.

The Naked and Famous

The Naked And Famous look set to make a big impact here in the UK in 2011 having had early success in their native New Zealand. The band’s electro-pop is often compared to MGMT and Passion Pit, and they are backed by Radio One DJ Fearne Cotton, and Nick Grimshaw.

Mona

They’ve performed on Later… With Jools Holland, while getting heaps of radio plays. So, with a debut album due next year, expect big things from the Nashville four-piece who started playing their instruments in church. Just don’t expect anything The Kings Of Leon can’t already give you.

Daley

New Music Talent 2011, music 2011, new artists, new talent, Daley Daley

Mancunian Daley has been singing and writing songs since he was a teenager, but his big break came when he loaded a video onto the BBC Introducing website. Here, it came to the attention of 1Xtra’s Ras Kwarne, who played it on his 100% Homegrown slot. Then MistaJam took note, and the singer found himself performing on BBC’s Introducing 1Xtra night at 2009’s Electric Proms.

Next Daley wrote the Gorillaz song Doncamatic with Damon Albarn, who told Zane Lowe that Daley had, “One of those voices that don’t come around very often,” when the single got its first play on Radio 1.

\r\n\r\n

So, big things have already happened in 2010 for Daley, what will 2011 have in store?
