The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows cast admit that there are undertones of fascism thrown into the Harry Potter shorelines.
I think it was intended that there is a parallel to fascism, Ralph Fiennes explains in our video interview. I think thats very much what JK Rowling had in mind.
I actually found that right from the beginning when I arrived thinking oh Im in something cartoonish, adds Jason Issacs who plays Lucius Malfoy. And then as soon as I put the wig on I realized Im spouting this racial supremist stuff and that actually rips right from the newspapers, and from the hustlings of mainland Europe, people are standing on these platforms of seperative racism right now.
I was used to my Hogwarts days, Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, says about the darker themes in this film And its somewhat different in this film for young Draco. Hes well and truly out of his place, and well and truly out of his league as well.
And Ralph Fiennes, who plays the Dark Lord Voldermort, had nothing but praise for his younger co-stars.
I had most interaction with Daniel, he explains. Hes great to work with, very very generous, very professional. Emma and Rupert I had very little interaction with at all.None at all with Emma. But I think theyre wonderful in this film. I think the relationships between them are very sophisticated and complex. I think its really great.
Theyve got darker, theyve got more adult. As the initial audience has grown, I think the films have grown in sync with them.
