Its the end of an era for the Harry Potter cast. We caught up with Jason Issacs and Tom Felton, who play Lucius and Draco Malfoy, to talk about their time working on the films.
Lucius has been in prison for a year, hes had an awful time of it. Hes come out a broken man from that, says Jason, bringing us up to speed. Hes tried to hold his head up but his house has been requisitioned by Voldermort, who gives him no respect, his wife has no respect for him, his son has let him down by not killing Dumbledore which could have restored the family name.
After his failings in the previous film, he knows he cant hold his head high amongst the Malfoys and has done nothing to restore the name, Tom explains about Draco Malfoy. He is terrified in this film, as his house has been taken over by the darkest, evilest people in the world. Theres definitely a journey where he questions whether hes really in the right place or whether this is actually a cause that he wants to fight for.
But does the new film get any darker? It doesnt feel any darker, says Jason Issacs, before adding, Being a Malfoy it always felt dark.
One thing that was different for me was being surrounded by the heads of evil, says Tom. I was used to my Hogwarts days. Its somewhat different in this film for young Draco. Hes well and truly out of his place, and well and truly out of his league as well.
