Super news! Amy Adams to play Lois Lane
Amy Adams has proven her acting credentials, having been nominated for an Oscar three times (Junebug, Doubt, The Fighter) and now she’s going to take on one of the most famous roles out there, playing Lois Lane in the remake of Superman.
We were already excited about Superman: Man Of Steel when we found out that the gorgeous Henry Cavil (Stardust) would be donning the red cape, and now, with Adams on board, the project is starting to look even more promising.
Director Zach Snyder has already stated what he was looking for in Lois Lane, “What’s important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audince,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him.”
Other contenders for the role were reported to be Kristin Stewart (Twilight), Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes), Jessica Biel (Valentine’s Day), Dianna Agron (Glee) and Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy).
Adams follows in the footsteps of Margot Kidder (1978-83), Kate Bosworth (206) and Teri Hatcher (1993-97) who have played Lois in TV and film adaptations.
