It's not exactly been the cheeriest of weeks, has it? Between all the news about poor Amy Winehouse and the terrible shootings in Oslo, no-one's in much of a party mood this Friday. So, this Weekender is dedicated to all the things we're doing this weekend to cheer ourselves up and put a smile back on our faces. Read on, and don't forget to let us know what you're up to this weekend, below, on our Facebook page, or via our Twitter @handbagcom.

Buying: Ive still got a couple of weeks to go before I go away for a week in Morroco, but what better way to cheer yourself up than some holiday shopping? Fortunately Ive got the sage advice of Sarah Walters from style-passport to hand to point me in the right direction with her guide to how to pack. I also need to get in shape sharpish if Im going to fit into my bikini - I could check out the best boot camps in our latest review, but Ive never been one for hard graft. Instead Im going to buy the ingredients to follow our seven-day Dukan diet plan. The recipes actually look pretty nice, so this might be one diet I actually manage to stick to.
Doing: Fortunately the diet starts on Monday, so Im going to try and inspire my inner foodie with a visit to the pop-up Cloudy Bay Shack in Parsons Green. The ultimate summer food event, featuring Petersham nurseries chef Skye Gyngell, the yummy New Zealand inspired food (washed down with lots of yummy Cloudy Shack New Zealand wine, of course!) is guaranteed to put a smile on my face.
