There’s never been a better time to embrace the British Isles and explore its dramatic coastlines, idyllic countryside and breathtaking views. The best way to immerse yourself in this beautiful country is by camping in some of the UK’s coolest campsites.
We’ve asked head camper Jonathan Knight from Cool Camping to pick 10 of his favourites sites for handbag.com. So nestle down among wild-flower meadows, snuggle down under the stars, or hide away in secret woodlands, and we’ll see you round the campfire.

Downshay Farm
The views from this gently sloping site at Downshay stretch out across this scenic part of Britain like a Turner painting, with Corfe Castle taking centre stage. The farm’s large tent field is no modern, manicured camping ground, but don’t let the challenging gradients and rickety gate deter you from the visual treat in store when you unzip that canvas. Pitch around the perimeter of the field as its middle is normally kept empty for games of footie or Frisbee, and there’s a flatter field below for caravans and campervans.
