What's the story?
LG's highly successful Shine phone has been given a scorching pink makeover. If you didn't catch the original version when it hit the stores earlier this year, then now is the time to indulge in this high-tech, high-gloss handset hottie.
What's it like?
Sexy. One of the Shine's most appealing features is its large LCD mirror on the front, which magically transforms into a quality colour screen when the phone is activated. The nifty scrollbar brings the ease back into navigation (which was one our major quibbles with the LG Chocolate and its hugely annoying heat sensors).
Upping the ante on the attraction front is its excellent auto-focus 2-megapixel camera, notably made by Schneider Kreuznach, which manufactures all the lenses for Kodak. Other winning features include a USB port (which makes transporting documents between home and office a doddle), an expandable memory card, and an MP3 player. On top of all that, it's got the cutest flash wallpaper EVER!
Any bad points?
Sadly, yes. We were majorly disappointed to find out that this puppy will only be available to Orange customers, so for those of you on other networks hoping to upgrade to a Shine Pink - you are way out of luck.
Verdict
This phone is the gizmo equivalent to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not only is it annoyingly attractive, it's also got the brains and the brawn to back up the good looks. It's tough, durable, sleek, useful and pretty and, so far, scratch resistant - which is pretty good for a phone that's spent three days without protection in this reviewer's handbag!
