Starring: Steve Coogan, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Rosario Dawson and Logan Lerrman.
Whats the fuss about? Percy Jackson trades on its similarities to Harry Potter, but its much more than that. Funny and interesting, the film had us in stitches one moment and on the edge of our seats the next. A must-see.
Whats the story? Okay, stay with us. Teenager Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) discovers that Poseidon (God of the sea) is actually his dad, hes a demi-god (the son of a god and a mortal) and hes been accused of stealing Zeus lightning bolt. So Jackson does a stint in training camp and then heads off on the adventure of a lifetime with fellow demi-god Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) and his satyr protector Grover (Brandon T. Jackson) to clear his name, rescue his mother, recover Zeus lightning bolt and save the world. Its no mean feat.
Best bits: The performances by the younger cast members are brilliant. Brandon T. Jackson is hilarious and Logan Lerman proving hes a credible actor and better looking than Zac Efron. The older cast members hold their own too, we especially loved the casting of Steve Coogan as a British rock star inspired Hades. Absolute genius.
See it with: Anyone. Both children and grownups will love Percy Jackson.
