Last night saw four of the world's most famous women hit the red carpet in Leicester Square for the premiere of Sex And The City 2. The evening was full of glitz, glam, and over-the-top head pieces as Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis shimmied up the red carpet to promote the four New Yorkers' latest outing. We were lucky enough to have a chat with all four ladies.
When we asked Sarah Jessica Parker if she takes parts of Carrie home with her, she said, "Well, we definitely share a love and an enormous affection for New York City. She's a flawed, complex person but I love the way she commits to her friendships and how she feels about those friendships, and how honourable she is in those friendships. But I like the things that are different most of all, because it just makes it more interesting to play her."
Kim Cattrall, on the other hand, made it clear that she isn't anything like man-eater Samantha. "I don't take my characters home, I try not to. I have a very different life. In some ways there are similarities. We look very much alike. I think I'm much more romantic than she is, but she's more pragmatic than I am."
Kristin Davis, however, admitted she finds it difficult to distinguish between her character and Charlotte's character. "You know, I am her, I play her," the actress said. "It's really hard to separate."
"Miranda has become more like me than I've become like her," said Cynthia Nixon. "But I love the part of Miranda that speaks up and that really doesn't bite her tongue."
When we asked director and writer Michael Patrick King whether Sex And The City 2 marked the end for the franchise, he wasn't quick to give too much away. "'I have no idea' is the answer to 'Will there be more?' All I can say is everybody wants more sex, but only if it's good sex."
