Before 'Lost', 37-year-old Josh was a struggling actor wondering if he had been wise to jack in his career as a male model. A few TV roles and bit parts in movies had failed to get the Georgia-raised actor the foothold in Hollywood he craved. Now he is one of the hottest pin-ups in the world, with legions of adoring fans admiring his dimpled smile and rakish charm.
Success with the ladies
Modest Josh says his character Sawyer's mean streak actually puts off female followers. 'They're actually running the other way because they've seen what a bad guy Sawyer is. Sometimes I get lucky,' he laughs. 'I went to Starbucks one morning and I got hit on seven times before I got my coffee! You know girls like a bad boy. I don't view myself that way at all. I'm a dude, and I think my chin is big and my body ain't Brad Pitt!'
How to woo him
'I love it when a woman can just appreciate being a woman. I love it when a woman wears killer high heels. They look amazing. Though at the same time, you've got to wonder how they walk in them,' says Josh. The Southern gent is also keen on freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
Eligibility
He's funny, down-to-earth, totally gorgeous - and married to Indonesian-born stunner Yessica Kumala. The couple wed in a quiet beach ceremony in October 2004, and she is totally at ease with his beautiful castmates. 'Thank God she is secure in our love. It's not an issue and it shouldn't be. It's my job,' says Josh, who admits he still likes to check women out. 'I still like to look around, but respectfully and with no intentions: "Married, not buried," I always say.'
