Whats the story? Rebecca Bloomwood is a journalist with a secret shes addicted to shopping isnt every girl? Shes £16k in debt, dreams of working for her favourite fashion magazine, but cant quite get her foot on the ladder until ironically she gets a break as a columnist on a financial magazine published by the same company. All Rebecca has to do is to keep her past credit crisis from ruining her future.
Whos in it? Isla Fisher gives a brilliant, if a little squeaky, performance as a desperate fashion addict, and creates a character every woman can relate to. Who hasnt come up with 100 excuses why they just must buy that scarf?
Whats not to like?
Some parts did begin to make us wonder whether Rebecca just had a screw loose, and might be better off being carted away in a strait jacket. And then, as we could relate to her we began to question our own sanity.
Best bit?
Our sides were splitting as Rebeccas attempts to cover up her past became more far-fetched. And the clothes were just fabulous Sex And The Citys Patricia Field was the costume designer, and this film is full of colour!
See it with?
Your fashionista friends, who will most likely relate to Rebecca more than they let on.
Verdict?
Fun, fun, fun!
