So, it's finally over. Jade Thompson has been crowned this year's Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model. We can all go back to spending Sunday night's dreading Monday because of work, rather than getting a bit giddy with excitement because we're going to find out who's going to be eliminated. This year's Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model has seemed ten times harder, b******r and all round challenging than previous series. We speak to the winner Jade, about her time on the show.
Congratulations! You're this year's Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model – how does it feel?
I'm completely shocked, overwhelmed and very very happy – what a journey!
How confident were you that you'd win?
I was confident and I wasn’t because I am unique and I hoped that would work to my advantage, but Juste’s done modelling before so I was scared.
Was there any moment where you thought you might be going home?
The Ballet shoot. It was a horrible shoot – definitely a kick up the bum for me.
What do all your friends and family think?
They are so proud! My mum Is over the moon!
What were those stairs like? They looked awful.
They were daunting , a huge challenge as my shoes were two sizes too small!
What's been your favourite memory from your time on the show?
The Go-Sees and winning £2000 to spend. I loved that!
What's been the biggest challenge for you?
The Underwater shoot, seeing as I can hardly swim I overcame a huge phobia.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking of applying or next year's show?
Believe in yourself. Embrace how you look.
What's life like now that you've won?
It’s amazing and there will be some big changes. I’m moving to London and starting a new life!
What's next?
The Britain and Ireland’s Next Top model Live Event at London’s Excel this October and also I will crack America hopefully!
Are you secretly pleased that it's all over with?
Very, as it was a nerve wracking time and I’m glad I’m out of it now – but it has been the best experience of my life.
Are you excited to see your face on the cover of Company?
Yes!! So excited its going to be so surreal to see myself on the front page of a magazine!
