10 top TV moments from the last 10 years

2003 - Coronation Street, Richard Hillman confesses
Christmas afternoon viewing always tops the annual ratings but next in the line come the soaps. Despite reaching the ripe old age of 43 back in 2003 our interest in Coronation Street couldn't have been greater when serial killer Richard Hillman arrived on the famous cobbles. After months of plot twists and turns 19.43million of us tuned in to watch the moment he revealed his crimes to his wife Gail.

2006 - Last ever Top of the Pops
While Coronation Street went from strength to strength another TV relic from the ‘60s run on the box was finally ended. The first Top of the Pops was recorded in 1964 and boasted legendary guests the Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Dusty Springfield, the weekly show quickly became essential viewing. But a change in the music scene and shifting TV schedules meant that by the noughties TOTP was struggling badly and it finally went out with a whimper in July 2006. Shakira and Wyclef Jean were number one in the show's final countdown but hadn't even turned up to perform in the studio, instead their music video was played. Boo.

2004 - Goodbye Friends
Another show we said goodbye to was Friends. Originally called Insomnia Café the show was re-titled shortly before making it on to our screens in 1994. It was an instant smash. Over 10 seasons and 236 episodes the show was nominated for a whopping 63 Emmy awards and made superstars of its six lead characters. But all good things finally come to end and in 2004 we bid farewell to Joey, Monica, Rachel, Ross, Chandler and Phoebe. But, could they be coming back? There have been constant rumours of a Friends film, just last month actor James Michael Tyler, better known as Gunther, told The Mail on Sunday a movie version was "definitely on". Fingers crossed.

2001 - Ali G meets the Beckhams
Ross and Rachel weren't the only celebrity couple to have caught our interest in the last decade. Shortly before handbag.com's launch in 1999 the Beckhams married in Ireland and they have remained a mainstay on our celebrity channel throughout the following years. They've had many TV highlights over the last decade of course. We could have chosen Rebecca Loos' infamous interview about her alleged affair with David, Victoria's Ugly Betty cameo or even the behind the scenes look at the couple's move to America. But in our view, there was no finer televisual moment than their 2001 Children In Need interview with Ali G. Pure gold.

2004 - Peter Andre and Katie Price meet on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
Of course, for every Posh and Becks there's a Katie and Peter, and more footage to choose from. Though no longer an item, their time together was never short of TV treats, and interestingly, many of them musical. So Katie's 2005 Eurovision entry? What about Peter Andre's masterpiece Insania then? Well, it must be their touching Disney duet A Whole New World? Nope, we've decided to save you from their vocal chords, ignore the current bitching and bad feeling and remind of you of their meeting in the I'm A Celeb jungle.
