What's the story?
Many moons ago when we were all but children, some of us chose to play with Barbie dolls and My Little Pony which, lets face it, wouldn't exactly excite the cinematic world these days. On the other hand, some of us were playing with super cool robots that could transform into all manner of useful things, like cars and planes, all while fighting the battle against evil. Now that is much more up Hollywood's street - and they certainly didn't disappoint when they brought it to fruition...
The good...
If you like the idea of incredible special effects that see robots effortlessly turn into cars and back again, then you'll love this. The CGI animation is amazing, so much so, that you'll be hard pressed to find a moment of dodgy footage anywhere in the movie. There is also a large helping of blockbuster action and laughs that help keep the story moving a pace, which is necessary as it ‘aint that short.
The bad...
It's not exactly Shakespeare so expect silly storylines aplenty. Case in point: Evil alien robots (the Decepticons) have come to earth to find a big box and do battle with their mortal enemies, the good robots (called Autobots). Meanwhile, our hapless teenage hero (Shia La Beouf) tries to help out, bringing along his bit of fluff (Megan Fox) for the ride.
Best bits?
The city wide melee that happens towards the end of the film is worth the wait for the special effects alone, while the hilarious scene when the Autobots pay a visit the parent's house is great fun to watch.
DVD Extras?
