(15), 130 mins, 2007, USA
What's the story?
New York cop John McClane's run-of-the-mill day turns into one big action spectacular when a terrorist decides to bring down America by taking out every computer system around the nation. Fortunately, old school technophobe John has a young buck hacker on hand...
Who's in it?
Bruce Willis reprises his best known role with aplomb and an impressive side of self-deprecating humour while the cute Mac dude from the Apple ads, Justin Long, plays his comedy sidekick. Together they tear around the city creating chaos while displaying their surprisingly good chemistry.
Liking?
The amusing quips, the amazing action, the unashamed silliness of it all, John's cheesy one-liners and our two captivating stars.
Not liking?
The ridiculous and fairly rudimentary plot. Granted, it's not as stupid as it could be and audiences of popcorn flicks aren't there for brain games.
Extras
On the two-disc Ultimate Action Edition, there are deleted and extended scenes, seven excellent featurettes, and a gag reel...
Who would like this?
Boys to men. Well, fellas that still have a penchant for explosions and that kind of apparently manly stuff. Plus ladies who can tolerate a bit of action or fancy Mr Willis.
