Anyone who's seen his portrayal of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in hit indie flick Control will have already caught on to Sam Riley's slim charms. The 29-year-old actor ticks all the right boxes on the cool quota. He's been in a band, has battled to get his big break by folding t-shirts in a factory, was nominated for a Bafta, has just won a huge modeling contract with Burberry and shares the same birthday as David Bowie.

The only bother is you'd have to battle for his affections because the star lives in Berlin with his Control co-star.
