Anyone who's spent too much time trying to translate The Wire will realise that there's nothing difficult to decipher about Dominic's screen appeal. The 39-year-old star may brave a Baltimore drawl for his role as the hardworking detective in the hit US show but in reality he's born and bred British. And as if his acting skills weren't enough, he's also a flexible thesp. When he turned 30 he put his 6ft frame through the paces on a UK tour with the Argentinean Circus De La Guarda.

 

Verdict: Dalliance
It looks like most of us wouldn't be posh enough for a long term pull. He studied at Eton, has a nine-year-old daughter with the granddaughter of Lord Astor and is currently living in Shepherd's Bush with a former Countess of Durham.
