Hollywood star Nicole Kidman has insisted she is not vain. "I'm not enamored with youth. There isn't wisdom in youth. I'm not particularly vain, I get ready in five minutes. I'm not always looking in the mirror but I like to be healthy. I want to be able to run and walk and hike," Showbiz Spy quote the Oscar winner saying before she explains what she was like as a child. "I was always on the outside, on the periphery of things, maybe because I was so fair-skinned. I wanted to be the surfer chick, the sporty girl down on the beach, but I was the bookish girl. My mother would keep me inside and I'd read novels."
