Jade Goody given hope

Former Big Brother star Jade Goody has said a new drug has given her hope in her battle with cancer.

Jade Goody has said she had been given "a glimmer of hope" in her battle with cancer after being offered a new drug. Jade has been prescribed a two-month course topotecan hydrochloride, known by the trade name Hycamtin. "It has given me a glimmer of hope. I'm hoping and praying that there is a chance," Jade told The Sun. "It's the first good news I've had in a dreadful few weeks. Over the last three or four days my view has been 'How long have I got?' Now I'm thinking, 'Maybe there's a chance'." Meanwhile, a lawyer told the paper that Jade could have a case for loss of earnings claiming she could pursue action if previous biopsies taken from Jade showed the same cancer "fingerprint" as her current condition. "If you are losing blood and collapsing, your cancer is established," Sarah Harman said. "It's strange it wasn't diagnosed. Jade's symptoms should have been investigated."
