Grief behind Gwyneth Paltrow's haircut

Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow has said that a dramatic haircut was part of the grieving process after losing her father.

Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed the reason behind her famous, blonde bob. The actress has told the Daily Mail that the haircut was her way of coming to terms with the loss of her father Bruce Paltrow in 2002. "I kept my hair long because when my dad died I didn't want to cut it off," she explains. "I think it was because it was the hair he knew. Then one day I was on a shoot with Mario Testino and my hairstylist Stephen Lowe. I suddenly said 'I need to cut it now'. It was almost as if it was part of the grieving process. I just had to let something go."
