Ellis Bextor joins Take That tour

Sophie Ellis Bextor has put her own personal tour plans on hold so that she can join Take That on their European tour.

The group have asked her to accompany them as their 'special guest' on all 34 dates of the tour, which will be their second since they reunited last year.

Her part of the show will involve a live set promising "all her hits and more".

Ellis Bextor's tour will now take place early next year, new dates of which are to be announced shortly.

Fans who had bought tickets for the now-cancelled tour can exchange them for one of the new dates or get a full refund.

Writing on her website, Ellis Bextor said it was "proving incredibly difficult, if not impossible", to do her tour as well as Take That's.

"I'm thrilled Take That have asked me to tour with them, they're lovely boys and their tours are second to none. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity any girl would be a fool to turn down," she added.

"I promise you when my own tour happens next year it'll be bigger and better than ever."

Take That's tour kicks off on October 11 in Belfast.
