Friends ‘relieved’ Nicole Richie hospitalised
Nicole Richie’s friends say they are ‘relieved’ the star has been admitted to hospital with pneumonia, as it will force her to slow down.
Joaquin Phoenix’s publicist has slammed a US psychiatrist for suggesting that the actor, currently trying to forge a new career in rap music, is mentally ill. Joaquin has attracted press recently for announcing he plans to give up acting in favour of becoming a rapper, growing a long beard and appearing aloof in TV interviews. During a recent interview with the LA Times psychiatrist Paul Dobransky said he was “pretty offended” by Ben Stiller’s Oscar night impression of Joaquin. “The jury is not exactly in on what is happening," Dobransky said. "Whatever it is, it's not funny - whether it's drug abuse, mental illness coming on or the clumsiest attempt ever at a career change." However Phoenix’s PR is not happy with the doctors comments. “How absolutely inappropriate for a doctor who has no personal interaction or relationship with someone to diagnose them," he told MTV News. "And to do so in a public forum. Hope they spelled his name right. Another 15-minute-expert is born!”
