Burlesque star Dita Von Teese has admitted she once so shy people thought she was mute.
Dita Von Teese has said there was a time when she was so shy that her school teachers thought she was unable to speak. “I was really, really shy. Like painfully shy,” Showbiz Spy quotes her as saying. Dita, born Heather Renée Sweet, continues, “People thought there was something wrong with me because I couldn't speak. I didn't like to speak in class at school. I was really shy and they were always sending me to these speech classes to try to figure out where my voice was but I just didn't want to talk. I'm still a little bit like that now."
