U2 singer Bono founded Elevation Partners with veterans from the likes of Apple, Silver Lake and Blackstone Group in 2004. The whopping $1.9bn firm makes large-scale investments in selected media and entertainment companies. Bono’s company has partnered with Forbes and the website Move. But Elevation is just one of Bono’s many enterprises. In 2005 he founded Eden Clothing, a fair trade group selling clothing made in the developing world, while he also has interests in hotels, real estate, restaurants and a recording studio currently being built in Dublin. On top of this, we should remember U2 own the rights to their own music, so Bono can’t be doing too badly.
