Chris Brown narrowly avoided jail time this week, after pleading guilty to assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna. The R&B singer was given five years probation and 1,440 hours of community service for the assault on Rihanna, which happened in February of this year. TMZ reports, “He gets five years probation for a felony assault. He’ll get supervised probation. He’ll have to come back to court every three months. He must enrol in a domestic violence counselling program. If Brown violates probation, he could get up to four years in prison.” The singer has also been ordered to stay at least 50 yards from Rihanna for the next five years, a sentence which she thought unnecessary. http://www.handbag.com/celebrity/Rihanna-stay-away-order-not-necessary/v1
