Latin star Ricky Martin has been criticised by members of the church for using a surrogate mother to carry his twins.

Ricky Martin has been criticised by a senior member of the Catholic Church for having his new twin sons by way of a surrogate mother. “What Martin did diminishes the dignity of a human being,” The Cardinal of Honduras, Oscar Andres Rodriguez told Contact Music. “You can't just buy or rent life. It's even worse when someone famous and in the public eye is doing it.” Mexican talk show host Esteban Arce backed the Cardinal’s stance. “Ricky, the truth is that’s it’s bad. I don’t support or applaud him,” he said. “He’s a degenerate, and I feel sorry for those kids. I don’t think it’s right to deny children of maternal figures, just because you have a big ego. These kids are going to be raised without mothers.”
