An album of Tom Waits covers by 23-year-old Hollywood starlet Scarlett Johansson featuring David Bowie on backing vocals was always going to go in one of two directions - up, up and away or plummeting to failure. The online response to her first single, Falling Down, hasn't been good. "Warning! There's a rumour going around that some people have heard this version of the song and never smiled again," said gossip site Holy Moly. Blogger What Would Tyler Durden Do was less kind, "Scarlett Johansson has set the new bar for awfulness with her Tom Waits cover of Falling Down. The only way this experience could be any worse is if this monitor grew arms and started stabbing you." Oops.
