Madonna disappointed by no shows

Queen of pop Madonna has admitted she as “disappointed” several close friends weren’t able to attend her 50th birthday party.

Madonna admitted she was "disappointed" that a number of her close celebrity friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney, failed to attend her 50th birthday celebrations at the weekend. The Queen of pop celebrated her birthday with a lavish party at London's Volstead nightclub. During the party she is said to have made a 40 minute speech in which she thanked Guy, her children and Kabbalah, before admitting: "I'm really disappointed. There are a lot of people who are not here tonight, but thanks to everyone who did make it. I can't believe I have reached half a century. It only happens once and this is an event I'm glad to be sharing with you." Guy also said a few words telling his wife, "Out of all your years, you look your most beautiful." Aah.
