Handbag's fashion team defied the London tube strike yesterday evening to attend the grand finale of Graduate Fashion Week. At a party at Earls Court 2, the team mingled with celebrities including Claudia Schiffer, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - who looked stunning in a red Mark Fast dress and Giuseppe Zanotti heels - and Matthew Williamson. The winner of the £20,000 River Island Gold Prize went to Myrto Samou of the University Of The Creative Arts, Rochester. She also won the womenswear award. Judge Giles Deacon said, "We chose the winner of the River Island Womenswear Award because we felt her collection had a very strong signature style. It was a cohesive range which could easily be sold tomorrow."
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who presented the Best Stand Award, told handbag's Fashion Director Belinda White, "I've been interested in fashion since day dot, and it's amazing to see all the emerging talent here."
