Metallics are big news in the fashion stakes this season, and true fashionistas are translating the look from clothing and accessories to make-up. Shimmering shades of silver and gold are hot for eyes right now and look fabulous against a bronzed face. Pare down the Chanel look by opting for either silver or gold – not both. Golds look fabulous on warmer complexion, while silvery hues suit icy blondes.
Start by defining features with a bronzer to give the face a sunny glow and create the perfect canvas for metallic make-up magic. We love Hoola by Benefit (£22) for a spot of natural holiday colour similar to the gorgeous tan of our Chanel model. Next, treat yourself to one of the many must-have metallics for eyes on the market at the mo. If you want to create a more edgy evening look, try a chunky metallic kohl pencil in gold or silver, and line around the completely, smudging softy at the edges. For a softer daytime look, try a sheer, shimmering shadow and lightly dust the lids, sweeping outwards for a more dreamy look.
Nails dripping in blinging golds and sexy silvers are also big news for spring/summer, so be sure to dress up your manicured mitts in metallics this season. And don't leave your tootsies out – a slick of metallic colour will glam up those new summertime sandals and skyscraper wedges in no time.
