Lip treatment
Now to the lips. For established lippie-lovers this high impact pout will be a cinch. Match a lip liner, (L'Oréal Paris Contour Parfait in Burgundy, £4.29 will be ideal with Penelope Red) and gently sketch along the lip line (but not too harshly). Layer another coat of lipstick with the lip brush and blend the two together. For an alternative take (especially good for lipstick virgins), apply a smudge of deep red lippie to the centre of lips and blot together. This touch of colour is a nod to the trend without scaring non-lippie wearers away.
Crowning glory
Any hair can be styled more glamorously, as long as you have the right tools and tricks at hand. For this ‘40s inspired look, wrap rollers into 2-3inch sections of hair and roll up to the middle of each section - the top should stay straight - and leave until dry.
