Trend setting - Nifty nudes
Nude make-up was back on the catwalks once again for autumn/winter '07, making it a great make-up transition between the seasons. Armed with the right beauty tools and know-how, pulling off this trend couldn't be easier.

Clean slate
For a barely-there make-up look, a good blank canvas is a must. Invest in some trusted basics to cleanse, exfoliate and nourish skin and the nude trend is yours. Use a good exfoliator a couple of times each week, such as L'Oréal Pure Zone Deep Exfoliating Gel Wash, £3.83, to remove impurities and ward off future breakouts. A nourishing serum, like Garnier Nutritionist Daily Renewing Omega Serum, £11.99, will replenish skin with essential fatty acids and antioxidants and help reveal glowing skin.

Let it glow
Luminous skin is the key to this trend. Think Mischa Barton or Chloë Sevigny, who glow year-round but never look ‘done-up'. The trick is using a light coverage with illuminating qualities, like L'Oréal Paris Visible Lift Foundation, £10.99, or Maybelline Everfresh Foundation, £6.49, which contain light-reflecting particles and skin-protecting properties. Dot and blend around the eyes, nose and mouth, to give skin an even sheen.

Blushed cheeks
Cheeks were sculpted on the runways of Jil Sander and Marni, and a touch of iridescence on top gives a modern take on a natural look. Use a bronzer to define cheeks lightly, sweeping lengthways in a downwards motion. L'Oréal Glam Bronze Duo Powder, £9.99, with its two-tone bronzing powder is a good option for this. Follow with a swirl of Blush Delicieux Hint of Rose, £6.99 from L'Oréal, onto apples of cheeks for a pretty glow to brighten a dreary autumn day.

Just a quick slick
Keeping things minimal will accentuate features without going overboard. Curl lashes and slick on a couple of coats of Maybelline Define-a-Lash Mascara, £7.49, for extra definition. Skip the liner or, if going bare is too much to bear, opt for a grey shade on the top lid for a fresh take. Keep brows strong and sweep a slick of brow gel on top to keep in place.

Luscious lips
Well-conditioned lips finish the look, but if you dare not go bare, then dot on a peachy stain and blend into lips. A slick of gloss like L'Oréal's Glam Shine in Nude Rose Glow, £6.99, will add a hint of colour and shine without overloading. Alternatively, Maybelline Water-Shine Lipstick in Beige Glace, £5.99, is a glossy, light-reflecting lipstick that will last all day.
