Marathon runners, this is the treatment for you!

Margaret Dabbs foot spa

Ever since I starting running last year the training has taken a massive toll on my feet. Long runs have left my poor tootsies a little worse for wear. To say the least. It has put huge pressure on my feet causing my toenails to fall off, grow thicker and turn black. Hardly very ladylike. But not only that, it has left me embarrassed to show off my feet; on a recent holiday to Florida I wouldn’t even wear flip flops! But, as we draw nearer to the 2011 Flora Marathon I thought it only fair I share with you how I got my feet, and confidence back. And it’s all down to the Margaret Dabbs Medical Pedicure.

Perfect for guys and girls this pedicure is so, so much more than your standard file and paint. After much prompting to go, (you have to understand I didn’t want to show my feet to anyone, I mean anyone) I went along to the new Margaret Dabbs salon in Liberty’s, London. As I stepped into the private room I was immediately put at ease by my fabulous, straight talking, therapist Tamara. Apparently, and I believe her, she’s seen a lot worse; people get treated for everything from verrucas to broken nails, ingrown nails, severe hard skin, and well, the list continues. Tamara cut, filed, buffed and went back again with an electric file until my nails were near perfection. I was shocked at the result. Yes if I continue running my nails are likely to still cause me problems but a visit to Tamara every two months will keep them on track and looking presentable. Which is ultimately all I want.

So if you are training for this year’s marathon or know someone who is, this is the ultimate feet treat. Even men will feel comfortable in this modern foot spa which doesn’t leave you feeling worried or embarrassed about the condition of your feet. You won’t regret taking the plunge – I certainly didn’t.
