London Fashion Week 2011 backstage blogs - MAC for Preen
M.A.C Senior Artist, Neil Young, blogs exclusively for Handbag.com backstage at the Preen presentation.
The make-up for the Preen presentation was young, pure and super healthy. Even though this was a spin off from the show in NYC the designers wanted the girls to have the same healthy glow. The key make-up artist for the show, Lucy Burt, created a gorgeous fresh look by spending time on the preparation, and here's how.
Prepping the skin is key to a radiant finish as you often need less of everything else. As a make-up artist this is something we tend to spend a lot of time on prior to make-up.
We started by mixing M.A.C's Orange and Lavender oil into M.A.C's Complete Comfort Cream, giving the girls a great facial massage.
Lip Conditioner was applied to the lips, and M.A.C's Studio Sculpt Foundation was used sparingly to even out the skin tone, using a #192 brush.
M.A.C's two new Palettes for spring were the hero products for this look. 'Most Mocha' from the eye/face palette was used with the finger to add a sheer terracotta stain to the lip whilst a mixture of 'Fully Ripe' and 'Preferred Pink' from the Lip Palette added a flush rather than blush, to the cheek.
Brows were softly defined using powder. The look was finished by adding M.A.C Shine Mixing Medium to the higher planes of the face and eyelids.
The presentation was great and the girls looked gorgeous!
