How to fake fake eyelashes
Ive always been incredibly jealous of my younger sisters long, thick eyelashes they're so long that they actually look a bit clumpy and spidery if you add mascara but look totally amazing the rest of the time.
I, on the other hand, have totally bog standard, short average lashes that make my eyes look piggy and tired unless I have about three layers of super-strength jet black mascara on them. Ive recently had a heavyish fringe cut into my hair, and the result is that my eyes almost disappear completely underneath it without the application of ten tonnes of eye makeup each morning. Until now.
Lash Lift have come to my rescue with their new semi permanent lash treatment, which add volume and length to your lashes without the startled look you (I) get with a traditional lash perm. You can than choose to add on a tint for a the full wide-eyed Twiggy look at all times, and the treatment will last up to 12 weeks. So I headed over to Groom at Selfridges in London (pictured) to check it out...
The treatment itself takes 55 minutes which might seem like a long time for a lash treatment, but once my therapist Jayne has applied the treatment to my lashes (it feels a bit odd as she applies the pads that my lashes are wrapped around), sitting back with my eyes forced shut is actually blissfully relaxing. While were waiting for the perm to set, Sarah even steps in with a head massage, which was so amazing I almost forget where I was!
And the end result? I wasnt allowed to wear mascara on my lashes for 24 hours after the treatment, so it took me a while to see the full results, but once I was reunited with my mascara wand, I was thrilled with my new, super-fluttery lashes. Im hoping they last the party season, but am already considering booking myself in for my next treatment as soon as these lashes loose their allure
