Childlike beauty at London Fashion Week

by Funmi Fetto
Read about the childlike inspiration for beauty at the Louise Gray and Vivienne Westwood shows. Handbag.com is your online destination for the latest fashion, beauty, hair, entertainment and red carpet stories.

Child’s play was an obvious inspiration at the shows this weekend. Vivienne Westwood showcased models with bursts of raucous colours shadowing their every cheek, lip, forehead and nose. In some instances, girls were left unrecognisable when they stepped onto the catwalk with their faces completely painted with what looked like flecks of gold leaves. At Louise Gray’s equally eclectic show, colour ran riot not just over the clothes but also on the skin. Make-up artists James Riley and Christy Bergin used M.A.C to create a gloriously juvenile form of beauty. It ultimately looked like a palette from the entire colour spectrum was used to play join the dots on all the models’ faces. If this is anything to go by, come next winter, we will most definitely be harkening back to our youth.
