Wow! I’m just back home from creating the S/S 2012 make-up look at London Fashion Week 2011 for the Paul Costelloe show, and my head is still buzzing form all the excitement and fun backstage. Zillions of cameras were flashing and there were hoards of TV crews fighting for space backstage, all adding to the drama that is Backstage At LFW!

It’s my sixth season working with the adorable Paul Costelloe, and each season the show gets better and more exciting. I leapt out of bed at 4.30am on a mission and headed to the British Fashion Council Marquee at Somerset House for a call time of 5.30am - yes, it's an early start. I arrived armed with my make-up kit, brushes, face chart designs of the make-up look for 2012 ready to meet my team of seven make-up assistants.

For his 2012 Spring/Summer collection, Paul’s inspiration came from the 1962 Hollywood classic, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane. The overall look of the collection was timeless and innocent and it was my task was to create a make-up look that reflected this with a young, modern edge.

Over the last few weeks I have had meetings with Bourjois Paris, to look at their colour palette and from there I created the look inspired by playful Parisian girls on holiday in St Tropez.

After a quick briefing and demo with my team of make-up artists we set about creating the looks.

The model's skin was kept fresh and glowing with the new Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, followed by a dusting of rosy pink blush applied to the apples of the models' cheeks.
With the eyes I wanted to make them the focal statement of the make-up look, with a pop of shimmering azure blue on the eyelids, for this I used a metallic blue shade, Metalisse eyeliner in shade 54 Bleur Clinquant, which gave a very St Tropez sea-blue vibe.
To give a fresh wide-eye feel to the eyes we used Bourjois Volume Glamour Max - an amazing volumising mascara. Finally, the lips were given a modern powdery pink shade of Sweet Kiss Lipstick in the new Rose Cachemire shade.

Once the make-up was done the hairstylists got to work creating chic chignon styles complete the look and the show was set to go!
