MAC backstage at Roksanda Ilincic
Backstage tips from MAC Senior Artist Lesley Keane
It's been an early start today, had to be up and ready for the show at 5.30am and worked late last night on the McQ show, so I'm rather tired today!
Got to the Institute of Directors on London's Pall Mall which was the venue for the Roksanda show. Lucia Pica, the key make-up artist, arrived and did the demo which was a tough boyish beauty look with a lustre effect on the skin to emulate a slight work-out sweat, as opposed to a regular beauty highlight. Almost like a night out in a hot club!
The key products are M.A.C Charcoal Brown and Brun eyeshadow for the eye brows, and MAC Brow Set, combed upwards with a mascara wand for a boyish feel. MAC Sculpting cream in Walnut Brown was buffed across the lid in a straight line, to elongate the eye giving it a masculine shadow. MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder was rubbed across the eyelid, extending it outwards and roughed up with a #219 eye pencil brush to create a tough, dirty liner effect. Lashes were curled then zoom black mascara pressed into the roots.
We applied MAC Mineralize Concealer where needed to keep the base natural then we contoured with M.A.C Taupe Powder Blush. On the lips, we pressed in concealer to blank out the natural colour, then finally, to create the 'work out' skin, we used a MAC Duo Fibre #187 brush to buff MAC Shine Mixing Medium onto the high planes of the face.
This is my last show of London Fashion Week, I'm off to Ireland tomorrow for a shoot and a TV appearance and then off to Paris for more fun, frolics and foundation!
