Backstage with MAC at Moschino Cheap & Chic
Neil Young, M.A.Cs Senior Artist brings us all the info from backstage at London Fashion Week
Ive been relaxing myself into the backstage area at Moschino. Last week I flew back in from New York Fashion Week and due to jet-lag I havent been sleeping well. I have also been busy cleaning all my kit and making sure my brushes are all in order. I was really eager that I slept well the night before and I surprisingly slept like a baby, a full 8 hours! So at the moment I am very relaxed!
It's the first time Moschino have shown in London so there is so much buzz and excitement backstage; a definite excited tension. The look is beautiful and very simple. The look also works amazingly with the collection. The clothes are so colourful and inspired by make-up, with illustrations of lipsticks etc on the dresses/skirts so perfect for M.A.C!
Val Garland (key make-up artist) has done an amazing job to pull out a glitter lip for this seasons collection.
The look starts with really well prepped skin. Lots of M.A.C Prep & Prime and only using a little concealer where it was needed. The moisturiser, M.A.Cs Comfort Cream, was used as a highlighter. The brows were just brushed, with M.A.Cs clear brow gel. There was also no eye colour or mascara, just keeping the looks al about one focus which was the lips!
So onto the lips.....it was all about the lips at this show! For the fairer girls, the M.A.C Pink Vivid Paint Stick was dabbed on the lips and then Pink Glitter was used on the top. For the darker skin girls, M.A.C Violetta lipstick was applied with a coat of the Fuchsia Glitter on top.
This look may look simple, but actually takes a lot of technique. The face is left quite raw so we rely on the girls beauty.
