A new roster of new and updated ingredients has hit the beauty scene including the new naturals. Here’s the lowdown on what they are and what they can do for your skin

There's a bit of confusion surrounding what natural skincare means.  To the purist natural skincare should be exactly that: pure and natural.  This means no chemical preservatives, emulsifiers, fragrance, colour - no chemical anything.   Up until now, things have been a bit blurry and skincare that was called natural, contained non-natural ingredients, such as the preservative, parabens.

A new wave of natural skincare has set a new benchmark for what is available for you and me to buy.  Research and hard work, has meant they have found natural ingredients that do the job traditionally done by the likes of parabens, SLSs and so on.  The other hot new development is that organic skincare is working harder.  The hot new organic lines contain ingredients that are starting to give the hi-tech and designer anti-ageing lines a run for their money.

What's in it for you
If you have sensitive skin that reacts to products, the new naturals could be your answer.  But remember that natural ingredients can also irritate some skins.  If you're looking to ‘clean up' the products you use in your house, on your face and the food you eat, the new naturals give you a great new choice.
