Frizzy hair

Those milder, more humid winter days can be a problem if your hair is prone to frizz - especially if you\'re going out from the warm, dry, centrally heated, indoors. This combination confuses the hair and makes it crinkle and frizz.
Keep humidity under control with a pomade, a light, hydrating styler - run a little through dry hair to smooth, shape and lock in that sleekness.

Chapped lips

lip balm, skincare Nude Lips Lips don\'t produce their own oil, so tend to dry out and crack when the air is cold and lacks moisture.
They need extra care at this time of year with a good quality lip balm. Avoid those that contain mineral oil or glycerine which although they feel silky, leave lips drier. Look for oils of beeswax or shea butter instead.

Dry flaky skin

exfoliator, skincare DDF Ultra Light Peel Temperature extremes deprive the skin of vital moisture. This slows down the renewal process - the shedding of dead skin cells to make way for fresh new skin - leaving a dry, taut, flaky surface.
The solution is gentle exfoliation to boost the shedding process, twice a week and a good moisturiser.

Red skin

skincare,Clinique Clinique CX Redness Relief Cream Pale, sensitive skin can sometimes suffer from redness - especially in winter. Icy wind and air weakens the moisture barrier which leaves skin prone to inflammation and redness.
Work on keeping skin soothed, hydrated and protected with gentle cleansers and SPF moisturiser.  If the problem persists try a targeted anti-redness cream which will help rebuild the barrier and soothe.

Limp hair

hair product,philip_kingsley Phillip Kingsley Elasticiser Like your skin, hair needs the right balance of moisture to keep it full and able to hold its style.  Dry air, hot or cold, takes out the moisture and so your hair goes flat - even when you\'ve been using volumising haircare.
Use a good quality hair mask once a week, to put back the moisture. You will start to find that your hair keeps its volume for longer.

Static hair

Hair product,GHD ghd anti static brush You comb through your hair, or whip off your hat after coming into the warm and bingo, it takes on a life of its own. Static hair is a pain and winter is the time for it.
For a quick fix, apply a little hand cream to your palms, massage in, then run through your hair.  Alternatively spritz your brush with hairspray and run through.

Brittle nails

skincare,opi,nail_care,brittle_nails OPI Nail Envy
It\'s one of those little peculiarities in the life of a nail: when you\'re on holiday they look fabulous - but in winter they\'re brittle and prone to flaking. The culprits are central heating and winter weather which dry them out.
To redress the balance, massage in almond nail oil every night and keep lips protected with a moisturising treatment. If you love wearing polish, limit yourself to alternate weeks.

Dry legs

natural skincare,laidbare,bath_soak Laidbare Chamomile Bath Soak
You may not have a problem with this in winter - but for those that do it\'s again down to the cold, drying weather.  An extra hot bath - heaven when it\'s cold - also dehydrates the skin on your legs, arms and body.
Exfoliate every other day to keep skin smooth and remember body lotion.  Also add bath oil or hydrating bubble bath to the tub to soften the water and your skin.

Red eyes

benefit,lemonaid Benefit Lemonaid
If the wind is up or it\'s icy out there, there\'s nothing more annoying than red, watery eyes. Wind induced tears make mascara run and can leave the eye area red.
If you\'re prone to this, wear waterproof mascara and apply a bit of concealer or a yellow tinted eye base over your eyelids. This will neutralise the redness and keep it hidden all day.

Lines and wrinkles

wrinkles, dry skin, skincare The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum
Winter\'s drying effects mean that fine lines and wrinkles become more visible. Skin needs moisture to look plump and line free.
To provide this moisture boost apply a hydrating skin serum underneath your everyday moisturiser. A serum provides an intensive dose and you will notice a difference.
