It’s the biggest time of the year for fragrance, hundreds of perfumes are launched in the run up to Christmas. But without smelling every single scent it’s hard to know what you want Santa to drop into your stocking.

There are two big trends this year in the perfume world, ‘skin scents’, perfumes that have used delicate, natural ingredients, like cotton and cashmere, which have something about them that remind you of skin, and work with your skin to be even more seductive.
Then there are heady, musky, sensual scents that use ingredients such as violet, iris, pink pepper and plum. We’re classifying these as purple scents.

So, as a handy guide to the new season scents we’ve split the latest fragrances into two categories: nudes and purples, and to give you a better idea of what sort of nude or purple each fragrance is we’ve got a different coloured background for each perfume – enjoy!
