The brilliant make-up artist, Ariane Poole, gives us her top tips on make-up for the wedding season. Whether you\'re a guest, like model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley pictured left, bridesmaid or bride, read on to find out how to look your best on the big day.
Ariane says: "First and foremost you must not try to out shine the bride. This goes for hair and make-up as well as clothing. First check with the bride whether there is a theme to the wedding: stately home, beach, etc. Of course I am not suggesting that you tone down your make-up if you are someone who is always seen in red lipstick or smoky eyes. But you will stand out like a sore thumb if you are in a full evening make-up at a beach wedding."

philosophy divine illumination
This brilliant moisturiser was created to give skin instant luminosity while also providing superior anti-ageing benefits, keeping your skin looking good in the long term as well as the here and now.
Ariane says: "Moisturiser is a must in order for skin to look radiant and healthy. But it\'s important to make sure you\'re flake free before applying moisturiser otherwise it won\'t absorb properly and could cause spots."

MAC Prep & Prime Skin
This skin primer provides a silky smooth base to apply the rest of your make-up too and helps it last from day to night.
Ariane says: "For any female guest at a wedding I would start with a primer. These go on after moisturiser and before foundation or concealer. There are many different types available and they all help make-up look better and last longer."

theBalm Sexy Mama
The presence of multiple cameras at a wedding is a guaranteed hazard of the day but avoid a shiny T-zone with the fantastic new anti-shine, oil-absorbing powder from theBalm. Small enough to fit in your clutch this compact has tiny oil absorbing spheres that leave a soft, smooth matte texture to your skin.
Ariane says: "In photos too much shine looks sweaty, so even if you want a dewy look keep your t-zone matte."

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-place Make-up
This foundation keeps skin looking flawless all day, lasting through heat, humidity and activity without fading or coming off on clothes. With a natural matte finish and SPF10 it will keep you looking fresh and fabulous all day.
Ariane says: "As with the bride and bridesmaids you want to make sure that your make-up is long lasting and photo friendly. By that I mean if you normally wear a powder mineral make-up, do a pre-wedding photo trial. A lot of the powder mineral make-up looks great in the flesh but can look very shiny and sweaty in pictures. You may have to opt for a more matte variety."

Maybelline Forever Strong polish
Tone down the bright corals and oranges on your nails and instead give a nod to the nude trend with the gorgeous peach shade from Maybelline. The Forever Strong range will also last for up to seven days and helps to protect your nails.
Ariane says: "The appearance of your nails is so important on your wedding day. Your hands will be on show. If your nails are not your best asset then have monthly manicures starting six months before your wedding. Also look at taking skin, hair and nail vitamin supplements.
