Clinique Different Lipstick in A Different Grape\r\n
“While the colour of this lipstick is quite plummy it actually looks a lot lighter on, which meant I could layer it up until I found a shade that suited me best. It’s also quite sheer and shiny making it look like I’d just licked my lips which I thought was quite sexy and because it’s glossy, it not only glided on really easily, it also didn’t dry out in any lip crevices and left my lips feeling super hydrated. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is keen to try out the new darker A/W shades but is looking for a more wearable take on the berry trend, plus it works just as well in the day as it does at night.”

NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Volga

“The darkest of the dark, this matte black cherry coloured lipstick is not for the fainthearted (or the pale skinned)! To get a smooth even finish I found that I had to apply more than one layer and because of it’s thick consistency it was prone to clinging to dry skin so it was essential to scrub my lips or apply lip balm pre-application if I wanted a smooth and flawless finish. I had to be extra careful to stay inside the lip line too, as it’s tricky to cover up any mistakes, however once it was on I became rather attached to the instant impact it had and while it does stay put, it’s surprisingly easy to remove with make-up wipes. An all-round winner.”

Topshop Lip Marker in Ultimate

“This felt-tip pen was great for creating a precision pout as I could line my lips perfectly before filling them in. Although it looks glossy on application, it dries matt and bizarrely it leaves lips feeling a tad tingly. A gorgeous crushed raspberry colour with a velvet finish, it’s a must for creating that on-trend bitten lip I’ve been lusting after and while it’s brilliant for long-lasting coverage, don’t take the word lip ‘stain’ lightly. Even after using make-up remover, this shade is hard to shift. The novelty factor of the felt tip applicator more than makes up for that though!”

Tom Ford lipstick in Moroccan Rouge

“This designer lipstick is a fantastic deep plum colour perfect for A/W. As someone with fair skin and blonde hair I was worried this may not suit my skin tone but it actually lifted my skin and was a welcome burst of colour. The rich plum pigments stand out but the glossy finish makes it wearable and still light enough to wear during the day but also of an evening. As it’s quite a vibrant colour I kept my eye make-up natural to compliment the look. Plus the packaging...swoon!”

MAC lipstick in Brave Red

“This new MAC lipstick is a deep, dark seductive red that I’m currently wearing for work and out to play. Unlike some other MAC lipsticks it’s not matt and drying, in fact it’s really glossy and the finish is even and wearable as opposed to heavy and sticky. The blue undertones will mean this is a good deep red for most skin tones. I’m totally hooked – 5/5 for this.”
